Relocated Cotton-top tamarins are doing very well!

Picture Dr.Donata Grassi

In October 2006, the BPRC  donated 6 Cotton-top tamarins to Parco Natura Viva in Bussolengo, Italy. By this means the BPRC hopes to make a contribution to the conservation of this endangered species. The animals are housed under conditions that closely resemble their natural habitat(South-American rainforest). In the summer of 2007, three babies were born into the colony, indicating that the animals are doing really well. The BPRC maintains contact with all the zoos where animals have been transferred, e.g. resulting in pictures as published here.
