The use of needles, as every child will agree, is an unpleasant fact of vaccination. BPRC participated in a recent study in which instead of using a needle, the vaccine was inhaled via a spray. Inhalation of the vaccine appeared to be as effective in stimulating the immune system as injection by needle. This way of vaccination holds promise for more user-friendly (think of tearful children worldwide) and potentially safer vaccines in the future.

Aerosol immunization with NYVAC and MVA vectored vaccines is safe, simple, and immunogenic.
