EU sponsored Research Infrastructure for studies in non-human primates

Non-human Primate Models of Chronic Immune Disorders

INSTALLATION PROFILE
The Research Infrastructure Biomedical Primate Research Centre (BPRC), located in Rijswijk, The Netherlands, provides a unique possibility to investigate pathogenic mechanisms and new therapies in nonhuman primate models  for autoimmune diseases and organ transplantation. The expertise of the departments of Immunobiology and Comparative Genetics will support EU investigators when using this research infrastructure.

ACCESS BEING OFFERED

EU scientists will be offered the opportunity to use the BPRC facilities for their own investigation when the use of non-human primates is an essential step in their research. Investigators can contact the BPRC with a project proposal. This proposal will be reviewed by an independent project selection panel consisting of internationally well established scientists. Proposals that meet the selection criteria and also have official EU approval, will subsequently be subjected to the same stringent procedures as all BPRC projects involving living animals, including approval by the Institute’s Animal Use and Care Committee.
