EU sponsored Research Infrastructure for studies in non-human primates

INSTALLATION PROFILE

The Research Infrastructure Biomedical Primate Research Centre (BPRC), located in Rijswijk, The Netherlands, provides a unique possibility to investigate pathogenic mechanisms and new therapies in nonhuman primate models  for autoimmune diseases, transplantation, infectious diseases and neurodegenerative diseases. The expertise of the BPRC scientists will support EU investigators when using this research infrastructure.

ACCESS BEING OFFERED 2011-2014

EU scientists will be offered the opportunity to use the BPRC facilities for their own investigation when the use of non-human primates is an essential step in their research. Investigators can contact the BPRC with a project proposal to use a disease model.

Request can be made throughout the year.

Proposals will be reviewed by an independent user selection panel (USP) consisting of internationally well established scientists. Proposals that meet the selection criteria, will subsequently be subjected to the same stringent procedures as all BPRC projects involving living animals, including approval by the Institute’s Animal Use and Care Committee.
