The Department of Parasitology is now seeking:

A post-doctoral immunologist m/f

to lead cellular immunology research in malaria vaccine development.  You will work in a team focusing on pre-clinical and clinical assessment of candidate malaria vaccines.  
Your responsibilities will include:

1)    Leadership and development of a group collaborating with vaccine developers worldwide to provide pre-clinical data on vaccine performance.

2)    Participation in a team engaged in a multi-faceted approach to the delivery of a vaccine against the asexual stages of parasite development. A first generation product is currently undergoing Phase 1 testing and a novel second generation approach is in pre-clinical development.  For this, wide-ranging evaluation of vaccine delivery methods, including recombinant protein with a range of promising adjuvants, either alone or in combination with a number of virally vectored approaches, will be undertaken.

We seek a highly motivated candidate with relevant immunological experience.
Within the department there is a stimulating range of activities in malaria and tuberculosis, ranging from target identification through to pre-clinical and early stage clinical testing. The position offers excellent possibilities for scientific- and personal development in a dynamic environment. 

Requirements:
PhD degree, background in cellular immunology, good organisational abilities.  You will have a strong interest in vaccine development, and preferably some experience in pre-clinical and/or clinical aspects of the work. For Dutch candidates art. 9 WOD qualification is desirable.
