Behind the scenes

BPRC, which is located in Rijswijk, employs more than one hundred people. Everyone is welcome to come and look behind the scenes.

One specialist department is responsible for looking after the animals used in our experiments and ensuring their well-being. The scientific research units conduct biomedical and pre-clinical research, which is a necessary preliminary step on the way to safely testing new medications on humans. The people working at these departments are specialists in the fields of virology, immunobiology, parasitology, bacteriology, genetics, ethology and methods not involving animal testing.
