Research funding

In additional to receiving financial support from the government, BPRC receives support (in the form of funding and resources for study proposals which have been submitted and approved) from EU funds and charitable foundations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

These organisations believe that our research may be able to make a significant contribution to the goals they seek to achieve. The fact that well-known charities and governmental organisations support our research proves that we are creating added value for public health and that these organisations believe in our methods.

Good care for laboratory animals and research go hand in hand

We don’t work with non-human primates for biomedical research as a matter of course. Quite the contrary, actually. We only work with them if no suitable alternatives are available. However, for the time being, this type of research is still needed to eradicate serious diseases. For this reason, the government, scientific research organisations and other organisations often call upon specialist primate research centres, such as BPRC, where loving care for laboratory animals and science go hand in hand.
